Crema Perla is a beautiful limestone quarried in the south of Spain.

Its background is white to cream tone, with some grey. Crema Perla is suitable for interior or exterior cladding and flooring, sealing is always recommended. It is produced in slabs, tiles and cut to size pieces. Crema Perla can be finished in rough, polished, honed, brushed and sandblasted finishes.

The photos of this stunning contemporary residence built by RDM General Contractors, include Crema Perla stone floor tiles and slabs supplied by Monarch Stone International. The design called for interior tiles of 24″ x 48″ x 3/4″ and 2” thick for exterior applications, both with a brushed finish.

Large slabs at 24″ x 48″ x 2″ were used for the exterior walkways. The unique application utilized a “pedestal” system that allowed for a level, mortar-less surface, enabling water to drain through the Crema Perla slab joints onto the substrate below.

RDM General Contractors used a pedestal system by Tile Tech PaversA pedestal system is designed for pavers, or in this case – stone slabs – to lay completely level (rather than sloped) to allow for drainage over a built up deck or roof.  These pedestals are adjustable, enabling perfectly level decks to be quickly constructed with structural pavers over sloping or uneven substrates.  The substrate can be either concrete or wood structure, with a roof membrane over the top.

The beautiful installation created a clean, contemporary feel throughout the exterior. For more images visit our stone flooring gallery page.
