Amazing to find such an esoteric resource online; and one where the owners really know their stuff. I wanted to use cobblestone inside and my contractor wasn’t sure it could be done. The Van Liefdes helped him understand how to do it. The cobble arrived on time and without much of a hitch– tons of it to a remote section of Connecticut.
We used Monarch Stone to supply 3500 SF of Historic European Cobblestone for a project in San Francisco. We worked closely with Anthony Van Liefde to source beautifully aged cobble that lined our clients driveway in a carefully designed arc pattern. Anthony was very involved from the procurement process through to assisting our installers with final installation and consulting on final maintenance suggestions. He continued to be involved through to the very end and the final product turned out beautifully!

My landscape architect, Dorthy Pautz, found Monarch Stone online during our search for authentic old European cobblestone for the terraces of a large 1936 Italianate villa my wife and I restored in Marin County, CA over 2012 and 2013. Anthony and Lisa at Monarch had the 2 varieties of 150+ year old cobblestone we were hoping to find, and also provided sections of old limestone curb we used for steps. They were very fast in responding to us, gave us a good price and were very efficient and accurate in arranging for shipping. They even bought back some of the surplus from the job. We highly recommend them.
My husband found Monarch Stone International online and immediately fell in love with the pictures of their product. We decided on the reclaimed granite cobblestone to complement our new Mediterranean revival home here in Naples, Florida. From the start, the communication with Anthony and Lisa was wonderful. We called on Monarch Stone International to help us select and install all of the stone for the construction of our home in Laguna Beach, California. We learned of Monarch Stone from two different general contractors in the area. We worked with Anthony, the owner of Monarch Stone, who provided stone samples and offered ideas on the various ways the stone could be cut and surfaced. The workmanship involved in laying the stone was excellent because of the talent of the stone cutters and installers Anthony assigned to the job. Anthony worked along with his crew to insure the quality and aesthetics of the job. Monarch Stone has access to many quarries both in the U.S and in Europe. This gave us a wide choice in the selection of the stone. We were very pleased with the final result. We have just recently purchased stone from Monarch Stone for a second home now under construction in Washington State.
