Architectural stone, also known as building or dimension stone, is natural stone that is selected to be sawn or hand chiseled to specific sizes or shapes per architect specifications. French limestone is one of the many stone types found worldwide that is particularly suitable for architectural or dimension stone specifications.
Elements such as stone columns, balustrades, fireplaces, fountains, window and door molding, veneer cladding, and wall caps for home or commercial applications can be fabricated with French limestone. Selection decisions include; color, texture – finish, pattern, as well as density or durability.
This recent project was specified in the beautiful French limestone: Lanvignes. After several trips to France with both the client and architect, stone color was specified and work was completed in 2011.
The Newport Beach California home features an exterior fully cladded in French limestone, along with a gorgeous hand-carved exterior/ interior door entry, interior staircase and more.
