Crema Perla limestone is a solid choice for flooring!

Crema Perla, quarried in Southern Spain, has a wonderful color range from white to cream tones and some grey. No wonder it is extremely popular for neutral color schemes. Crema Perla is a great choice for interior or exterior cladding and flooring. It can be finished in rough, polished, honed, brushed and sandblasted finishes.

The photo above is from a stunning contemporary residence we collaborated on, built by RDM General Contractors. The design specified Crema Perla stone floor tiles and slabs supplied by Monarch Stone International. Interior tiles were sized at 24″ x 48″ x 3/4″  thick and thicker 24″ x 48″ x 2″ slabs were used for the exterior walkways. Both interior and exterior stone has a “brushed” finish.

The large exterior slabs were installed over a unique “pedestal” system by Tile Tech Pavers. This allowed for a level, mortar-less surface, enabling water to drain through the Crema Perla slab joints onto the substrate below.

Crema Perla Limestone Flooring-5

A custom natural stone floor such as this, often begins with large blocks of stone found in stone quarries. The stone is mined and then transported to factories where they are cut into slabs.  The slabs are then cut into individual tiles and for custom orders. Natural stone such as Crema Perla requires little to no maintenance and will outlast manufactured or man-made products. Often all that is needed to maintain natural stone is a sealant.
