Since Roman times, cobblestone pavers have been used for paving roads in European villages and cities. Sometimes referred to as Belgian Blocks or setts, they appeared as very large rectangular shaped street cobblestone. Smaller squares were also popular, often installed in intricate ‘fan’ patterns. Ancient stone was also used as curbing – hand-hewn from large stone pieces in limestone or in smaller granite sections. Curb sizes are massive; 16″ to 18″ tall, in long random lengths.
