Natural granite paving stone creates a warm welcome to this beautiful San Diego hotel property!

Monarch Stone International was chosen to supply over 4,500 SF of granite paving for the port cochere and entry areas of this dual-brand hotel in San Diego, CA.

Overlooking San Diego Bay, the LEED certified Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites,  are located on the historic “Tops Nightclub” site at 2137 Pacific Coast Highway in San Diego.  As described by the project architect Gene Fong Associates, the highly customized design retains the 1941 Art Deco tower that was part of the nightclub originally, creating a perfect blend of streamlined contemporary and iconic design.

More than 4,500 sf of beautiful granite paving with a flame finish, in both light and dark gray colors were specified in two sizes; 4”x4” and 24” x 48” x 2” slabs. Granite is an igneous rock that forms when magma cools slowly beneath the earth’s surface, forming large, easily visible crystals of quartz, feldspar, and mica. Granite paving is extremely durable – the most durable natural paving stone available and is highly recommended for all high traffic areas both auto and pedestrian. This particular type of paving is ADA compliant as well.

We were pleased to work with the following professionals on this project:

Architect: Gene Fong Associates, Westwood CA

Landscape Architect: Ridge Landscape Architects, Irvine CA

Contractor: Gray Construction
